Apple Pie

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Place sliced apples in a large pot.
  3. Sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. Mix well and cook over low heat, stirring frequently, until apples are tender but not mushy.
  5. Pour apple mixture into pastry-lined pie pan.
  6. Cover with second pastry shell.
  7. Seal edges and cut steam vents in top.
  8. Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes, until crust is golden brown.
